Our Service committee is our “hands on” group. Service opportunities for interested members are arranged to benefit local organizations.
In early September, members of Chapin Women in Service spent an enjoyable afternoon “having fun” and “doing good”. Working together we assembled 30 Fall flower arrangements that were later delivered to the assisted living residents at Lowman Home. It was a great opportunity to bring some cheer and sunshine inside to the grateful recipients. Smiles all around!
Chapin Women in Service was honored to present a Thankful and Grateful Basket to Executive Director Mary Poulton Higginbotham of Good Works in appreciation for the vital contributions this organization and their volunteers provide to the Chapin community. The volunteers of Good Works give countless hours of their time and talents performing projects to improve the lives of others around them. Chapin Women in Service members hosted Bingo for the residents of the Generations Senior Care facility in Chapin. Game winners received tokens that they could then exchange at the end of the event for prizes provided by CWS. Member volunteers assisted residents when needed and after several rounds of regular Bingo and a round of Cover the Board, all the players had won at least once! A fun time was had by all.
Earlier in the year, we hosted Bingo for the residents of the Lowman Home. Bingo is an activity that our senior citizens really seem to enjoy, and it is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to visit with these precious individuals. We look forward to hosting Bingo at both of these facilities again next year.
